Psalm 118:19-20

“Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.

This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it.”

Last week I wrote, “Don’t forget to rejoice.”  This week I write, “Don’t forget to ask.”  Simple sentences, simple advice; easy to give, hard to follow.  In difficult times we do forget to rejoice and in lonely times we do forget to ask.

One of the shortest prayers we can pray is, “Dear God, let me in.”

Let me in to your presence, let me in to your warmth, let me in to your wisdom, let me in to your healing, let me in to your love!

If we ask sincerely, God will.  God’s door is always open, sometimes we just can’t find it, but God meets us on the path, lights the way and ushers us in.  So don’t forget to ask.

“Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Matthew 7: 7-8

Blessings,

David
