2013 is the 125th Anniversary
2013 will be the 125th year that Zion Memorial Church was founded as Zion Methodist Church.
Anniversary Weekend, May 4 and 5
In celebration of our Anniversary this year we are pulling out all the stops. It is the 125th Anniversary of the Church building (Methodist until the Amalgamation). For 125 years our building has been a Centre of Christian Worship in our Community.
On Saturday evening, May 4, from 4:30 to 7:00 we are holding our Anniversary Dinner. The Baked Ham Dinner is being catered by Kevin Ralph and Nicole Emond, our church custodians. They will look after set-up, cooking and clean-up so that all our congregation has the opportunity of enjoying this Anniversary meal. Special music is being provided.
Our Sunday service Guest Speaker is Reverend Rob Dalgleish Executive Director of the Toronto Office of the Network for Ministry Development (EDGE) of the United Church of Canada. Special music will be offered by the Event Horizon quartet whom we enjoyed so much at the last Gathering Service.
Our Choir Concert with special guests, including the Moffatt sisters, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
Throughout the weekend, our History Tour will be on display in the Fellowship Hall. Enjoy the “train journey” from the late 1800’s until the present and celebrate the progress we have made as a Church and as a Community.
Come and join in these celebrations of our church.
